The heart of justice is
truth telling...
more than ever we, as a society,
need to renew a commitment to truth telling.

WeWelcome, I'm glad you are here.
Maybe you found your way here because you can name what’s wrong, you can even explain it,
and yet the change you seek hasn’t arrived.
That’s not your fault. It just means your humanness requires more than words.
Truth telling, and in turn trauma work, is an embodied practice that includes language but reaches beyond it. It’s lived in the body, in our patterns, in our art-making and in our relationships, which is why naming what happened isn’t enough to change it.
If you’re an adult or teen healing from trauma, painful relationships, addiction, or abuse, you may be learning that insight alone doesn’t rewire trauma responses. Trauma takes away your sense of control, and underneath that, it harms your connection to your body, to other people, and to yourself.
In our work together, I use EMDR, creativity, and clinical interventions to restore your felt sense of control and connection. You set the pace, the images, and the meaning. No artistic or athletic skill required, just a willingness to explore with me what your body and your patterns are trying to tell you.
About me
Aurora Bison Lagattuta; LPC, MS, MFA
I work with the body, with images, and with story. I’m trained in EMDR and creative arts therapy, with a Master’s in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and an MFA in Dance; I specialize in trauma, addiction, and abuse.
With twenty years as a dance and yoga educator, I bring a deep understanding of the body into the therapy room. My clinical background includes work with veterans at the VA in Omaha and in residential treatment settings, where I gained experience with complex trauma, addiction, narcissistic and sexual abuse, and how they often intertwine. I combine EMDR, creative work, and clinical modalities, such as Internal Family Systems (IFS,) to help you heal at the level where trauma lives.
The creative, somatic, and clinical worlds rarely talk to each other, and people’s unique needs can get lost in the gaps. I aim to be a bridge: clinically trained, grounded in the body, and creative enough to meet you where you are and where you’d like to be.
Healing isn’t linear, and you don’t have to figure it out alone. Whether you’re an adult ready for something different or a parent supporting your teen, reach out and let’s start with a conversation.
Aurora Bison Lagattuta, LPC (provisional), practicing under supervision at Alicia Rowley Counseling.
